Winter Sill Gate Operations at Conwy Marina
Conwy Marina has started it’s restricted programme of Winter sill gate operation:
Berth holders are advised that, with immediate affect, sill gate operations will not take place during the hours of darkness and during any severe inclement weather.
Vessels wishing to access or egress the marina during this time are asked where possible, to navigate close to high water with the gate in a raised position and to contact the Marina for depth clearances.
Vessels wishing to access or egress outside of these hours are asked to request a gate operation giving as much notice as possible.
Reducing sill gate operations during the quieter winter months has proven to help significantly reduce the levels of siltation in the marina during these peak months and we thank you for your continued co-operation.

Split Decision, Myfanwy, Deva, Tessa and Pisces departed from Conwy early afternoon in sunshine and sailed straight into a very heavy shower. By the time we had reached Lynas it was back in to sunshine and Myfanwy, Deva, Tessa and Pisces settled down for the night at anchor in light North Easterly winds. I have never been in to the bay myself and it was a pleasant surprise to find how sheltered it was although there seemed to be a bit of a swell at times, possibly as the tide turned. Tessa was well photographed as the sun set behind her before we all turned in for the night.
