Sailing

Racing: In order to make our racing close and competitive as the season evolves, we have introduced our own self-adjusting handicap system which adapts to results throughout the year. Click here for more details.

The North Wales Cruising Club has a very active on-the-water programme for sailing and motor boats throughout the Spring, Summer and Autumn months.

We run events aimed at all types of sailors, including racing, family barbecues, day trips, weekend trips and bigger events like our week-long Spring Cruise and extended Summer Cruises, where we aim to travel further afield – destinations have included the Isle of Man, Northern and Southern Ireland, the North West Coast of England, the Isles of Scilly, Brittany and Scotland.

In addition, we run very popular special events each year such as the Trafalgar Day Rally and more recently the international Bart’s Bash event, for which we have been the biggest fundraising club in Wales every year so far.

We have partnered with Conwy Yacht Club so that there is an open invitation for NWCC members to take part in their races as well as their members taking part in ours.  Some of their key events are included in our programme, but for their full sailing programme please see the CYC website.

Unless otherwise notified, final briefings for events will be held in the Clubhouse at 19:30 on the Friday evening before the event.
