The International Certificate for Operators of Pleasure Craft is a certificate which is intended to provide evidence of competence when requested by officials in foreign countries. It is recognised by many countries and is commonly known as the International Certificate of Competence or ICC.
Certain RYA Day Skipper and Yachtmaster automatically qualify you for an ICC. However, as a Member of NWCC, if you don’t have either of these you can get an ICC by taking an Assessment on your own boat on a date of your choosing. The assessment can be done in one day and the level required is similar to that of RYA Day Skipper, and will be conducted by Mark Godwin, RYA Instructor.

To navigate inland waters in Europe you will need to have a CEVNI Endorsement on your ICC. This requires you to pass a brief, multiple choice exam covering the special rules and signals used on inland waterways. You can also book the CEVNI Exam on the form below.
